Recycled PP Fiber Capacity Expands Rapidly; Over 60 Enterprises Obtain GRS Certification
China’s recycled polypropylene (rPP) fiber sector is experiencing explosive growth amid carbon neutrality goals, with over 60 producers now GRS-certified and rPP capacity projected to represent 15% of total PP fiber output in 2026.
Manufacturers are scaling up production of rPP fibers sourced from recycled fishing nets, carpets, and industrial waste, addressing rising demand for sustainable materials in home textiles, outdoor gear, and automotive components. In home textiles, rPP yarns are used in eco-friendly carpets and upholstery; in automotive, they contribute to lightweight, low-carbon interiors. The industry advances circular economy goals while meeting EU Sustainable Textiles Strategy and U.S. carbon tariff requirements, with rPP export volumes surging 22% year-on-year in Q1 2026.
