PP Fiber Industry Prioritizes High-end Growth in 14th Five-Year Plan; Automotive & Construction Lead Expansion
2026 China Polypropylene Fiber Annual Conference concluded in Jieyang, Guangdong, outlining the 14th Five-Year Plan roadmap for high-quality development. The industry will shift from low-cost homogenization to high-value differentiation, with automotive interiors, engineering building materials, industrial filter media, home textiles, and outdoor products identified as core application pillars.
Driven by lightweight automotive trends, polypropylene (PP) fiber penetration in seat fabrics, safety belt webbing, and trunk liners has exceeded 35%. In construction, PP geotextiles and reinforced fibers see rising demand for infrastructure projects, with 2025 consumption reaching 480,000 tons. Industry leaders emphasize intelligent manufacturing and green innovation to meet stringent ESG standards, as China’s PP fiber capacity tops 3.8 million tons, accounting for 52% of global output.
